SUBJECT(S): God the Father creates Adam

CRITICAL NOTES: Together with the two preceeding panels (see files Museo 7, 8) this is one of the three surviving panels of the Old Testament stained glass window. U. Monneret de Villard attributes these panels to Niccolò da Varallo. But basing her research on several documents, C. Pirina distinguished many stylistic differences between the three glaziers active in the apse, and assigns these three panels to Maffiolo da Cremona (see files Duomo 1, 4).

CONDITION: Some heavy mending leads, and extensive overpainting with cold paint. Adam's head is a replacement by Currado Mochis.
